PLC.edu is subsidiary of the
Hawking Foundation, Inc., a non-profit non-governmental organization that
promotes low cost, equitable, and accessible education to a global
community. Organized in Dec of 1995, the Hawking Foundation has been active
in the field of online education for more than 12 years and has served more
than 300,000 students worldwide.

Courses & Programs Available
|
|
|
|
PLC offers four
different types of diploma programs to individuals, schools, and homeschoolers in the following areas.
1.
American High School Diploma
2.
International High School Diploma
3.
American Middle School Diploma
4.
AP/ID (Advanced Placement – International
Diploma)
If
you would like to earn your diploma online or lease courses for your
own online program, please click on Catalogue to choose
your courses.
Each
column will tell you the required courses for the different diploma
programs, and each course costs $150.00 and students have 6 months to
complete the course.
To
apply as a student, just fill out the PLC
Enrollment Form. Fees can be paid by check, money order, Pay Pal,
credit card, or school purchase order. We look forward to working with
you!
Schools
wishing to purchase or lease courses should contact admin@plc.edu for more information. Courses are generally $150 per
student, per semester and include maintenance and administrative
support. AP courses are $200 each and include an AP Prep Exam at the
end of the course.

Educational Background
|
|
|
|
The Personal
Learning Center has more than 400
courses, in 4 different diploma programs. Courses are taught by
certified instructors in both synchronous and non-synchronous
environments. PLC utilizes the
MOODLE infrastructure, in order to keep its students costs at a
minimum. PLC also utilizes HorizonWimba as a
virtual classroom and includes an interactive whiteboard, chat room,
and real time voice communication.
Courses
can be taught in 16 different languages, and may be transferred back to
the school for inclusion on student transcripts.
Courses
are currently accredited by ACIIE (Accreditation Commission for
International Internet Education).
Accreditation by DETC and SACS/CITA is currently in process.
